Chris Huhne is a director of, and adviser to, a number of businesses in renewable energy, energy saving and climate change. He is currently the co-Chair of ET Index Research. Formerly the UK Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, as well as a member of the UK and European Parliaments, he was responsible for a UK political party’s first comprehensive zero-carbon change programme. Before politics, he founded the sovereign group at IBCA and Fitch Ratings, where he was group managing director. Chris holds a first class degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University.
James is a partner at SystemiQ and Chairman of the Overseas Development Institute and GE’s Ecomagination. He is also an adviser to the Climate Bonds Initiative and Carbon Tracker, and a trustee member of the UK Green Building Council. Previously, he was a non-executive director of Solarcentury and co-founder and chairman of Climate Change Capital (CCC), which grew to be a thriving banking business employing 150 people with $1.5 billion under management. Whilst at CCC, James was named Leader of the Year 2013 at the BusinessGreen Leaders awards.
After starting his career at Google, Sam led the Environmental Investment Organisation (EIO), a not-for-profit research body to become the first and only organisation in the world to rank the world’s largest listed companies by their greenhouse gas emissions and disclosure. In 2014 he co-founded ET Index Research to commercialise the work of the EIO. Sam is author of Environmental Tracking 3.0 and serves on the Board of a human rights NGO. He also mentors several other young companies in the climate change sector. Sam holds a first class degree in French from the University of London Institute in Paris.
Jonathan has over a decade’s worth of expertise in portfolio management and risk modelling. Before joining ET Index Research, he completed the development and implementation of a global multi-asset class portfolio risk model at Credit Suisse. Previously, he worked at investment and trading houses across four continents. Jonathan holds an MSc in Financial Mathematics from Stanford University, and a BSc (Honours) in Physics and Mathematics from the University of British Columbia. He is currently completing research towards an executive PhD in Finance at EDHEC Business School.
Ravi started his career at Virgin as a selected member of the New Entrepreneurs Foundation, a leadership scheme for entrepreneurial talent. Ravi then moved to Pearson, the world's largest education company, where he joined as an analyst for their venture capital arm, the Affordable Learning Fund. Here, he conducted due diligence on social impact investments in the developing world. He also briefly worked on Pearson's startup accelerator program in San Francisco. Most recently, Ravi was a Product Manager at Arbor Education, a fast-growth B2B education technology company.
Bénédicte is an environmental and sustainability expert, having worked for four years on sustainable mobility projects in Switzerland. She has also worked on carbon reduction incentive programmes within various NGOs. She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in environmental engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). Bénédicte currently works with investor clients across France and Switzerland. She also works with our data to create compelling visual insights for investors that are used throughout our reports, data analytics and portfolio footprinting services.
Prior to joining ET Index Research, Hamish worked with Client Earth to support the filing of the 2016 UK 'Aiming for A' carbon asset risk shareholder resolutions at three of the world's largest diversified miners. He previously led market research with Client Earth and the Asset Owners Disclosure Project. He spent five years as a consultant to the World Bank and other multilateral lenders on urban sector projects in emerging markets. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of British Columbia and an MSc in Media & Communications from the London School of Economics.
Olivia provides strategic insights and client advice around global climate policy, and builds research partnerships with sustainable finance experts such as Generation Foundation. She is also responsible for the online distribution of ET Index Research thought leadership and research findings. Olivia studied Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge then Law, Anthropology & Society at the LSE. Her research experience includes projects undertaken for the Financial Times, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation & Development.
Audrey co-ordinated the analysis behind the 2016 ET Carbon Rankings, before working with our key investor clients in France. She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Corporate and Market finance from the EM LYON Business School, France. She worked in Corporate Finance within Airbus Group in Germany in 2014 and joined HSBC’s Debt Capital Market Team in Paris in 2015. At HSBC she focused on the Supranational/Sovereign/Agency (SSA) market, especially green bonds. During this period she was able to work on the inaugural Climate Bond of the City of Paris at the opening of the COP21.
Pekka is a climate and sustainability expert, having worked on both private and public climate change engagement. He has a broad range of experience in both the renewables sector and international climate negotiations, working on wind energy deployment at RenewableUK and representing UK youth delegation at COP21 as a part of the UK Youth Climate Coalition. Before joining ET Index Research, Pekka headed the Environmental Investment Organisation’s climate campaign and completed his military service in the Finnish Defence Forces. He holds a degree in History from UCL, London.
Kasper has a passion for climate science and a background in data analysis, statistics, scientific research and ecology. At ET Index Research, Kasper runs data analysis on client portfolios and leads on index backtesting to ensure the validity of our data. He also analyses the ET Carbon Rankings data to find new and compelling statistical insights e.g. the link between corporate emissions and corporate profitability. Kasper holds a Bachelor’s in Marine Biology, Ecology & Biodiversity and Statistics, as well as a Master’s in Marine Biology from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
Greg is a specialist in environmental economics and greenhouse gas emissions reporting. He is responsible for the compilation of the data for the ET Carbon Rankings each year, and works closely with our product team to ensure our analytics tools for investors and corporates are best-in-class. He leads our corporate engagement activities, where he responds to corporate queries and helps companies to improve their greenhouse gas emissions reporting and disclosure. Greg holds a Bachelor's in Ecology and a Master's in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, London.
Sebastian co-founded ET Index Research with Sam Gill and Jonathan Harris. He was an Executive Director at the company until 2016 and continues to serve as a Strategic Advisor and Board member for the Environmental Investment Organisation, the incubating think tank that gave rise to ET Index Research. Before setting up ET Index Research, Sebastian spent fours years as an investment banker between Paris and London. He is a non-executive director and investor in several start-up businesses, and also owns an IT consultancy firm. Sebastian holds a Double Honours degree in Political Science and French.
Jamie has over 20 years experience working in the financial information and index industry. He has held a variety of roles in operational build and support, acquisition and rights management, partnerships/collaboration and strategic business proposition ownership. Prior to joining ET Index Research, Jamie was based in New York, Toronto, and most recently Zurich as Head of Commercial Strategy & Business Development for Thomson Reuters Indices. At ET Index Research, Jamie provides strategic advice and helps to oversee our legal and contract discussions with clients.
